Events Manager (Contractor)

Thuzio sports events and media was established in 2017 and founded by Tiki Barber (New York Giants), Mark Gerson (GLG), and Jared Augustine (Seamless/GrubHub). Thuzio is based in New York, NY.

Position Summary:

Thuzio is seeking an Events Manager as an independent contractor to add to our growing team in each of our new markets. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this hire will be an event consultant and/or have your own event business. As a Thuzio Event Manager, you will be responsible for producing 6-10 events per year in your city. Thuzio events are held on weekday evenings at upscale private event spaces in major business districts and typically host 100-200 attendees in premium business-friendly settings. You must have strong local venue knowledge for our event type, a network of part-time event staffers available for hire, and experience working with celebrities. You will thrive with Thuzio if you are a self-starter, known for your can-do attitude, and have great attention to detail.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure venues and vendors that meet Thuzio requirements, including event spaces, AV, videography, and photography

  • Hire staff to support check-in and overall event logistics

  • Collaborate on and execute run of show

  • Coordinate and manage food and beverage

  • Manage floor plan and signage

  • Ensure production and staging is precise for interview show

  • Manage onsite check-in

  • Be available for occasional meetings with the Thuzio team to discuss event goals and logistics

  • Coordinate load-in and load-out

  • Review vendor expenses to ensure compliance with contracts

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of events experience

  • Corporate events experience, speaker series events preferred

  • Local venue, vendor, and staffing knowledge

  • Proven business communication and writing skills

  • Should be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently

  • Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure
