Mike Sherrard is a former NFL wide receiver. He played for the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants and Denver Broncos over the course of his eleven-year professional career. He was selected as the 18th pick in the first round of the 1986 NFL Draft. As the second wide receiver ever drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round, he had 41 receptions for 744 yards and led the team with five touchdowns. Mike ranks fourth for most receptions, second for most receiving yards and is tied for fourth for most touchdowns by a rookie in Cowboys’ franchise history. He played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1989 to 1992, when they won Super Bowl XXIV. His best season came in 1994 with the New York Giants when he achieved career highs with 53 receptions for 825 yards and six touchdowns. By the time he retired in 1996, Mike managed to catch 257 passes for 3,931 yards and made 22 touchdowns despite his struggles with injury.

Originally from Oakland, California, Mike was a multiple letterwinner in football, basketball and track while in high school. He attended the University of California-Los Angeles as an unrecruited athlete and walked on to the football team his freshman year. At the start of his sophomore season in 1983, he was the starting wide receiver and earned a second-team All-American selection after catching 48 passes for 709 yards. He also set a UCLA record for sophomore receptions in a season. By the time he graduated in 1986, Mike earned another All-American selection, was a member of three victorious Rose Bowl teams and ranked as one of the Bruins’ all-time leading receivers. After his retirement from the NFL, MIke worked with several charities in their fundraising departments. He founded Celebrity Locker Room in 2008 and is a broadcaster for KABC. Currently, he serves as Merchant Processing Manager at Viking Financial.
