Danny Green is the current shooting guard for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs. He began his NBA career as the 46th overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Prior to starting his professional basketball career, Danny graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, making quite a legacy for himself. He played all four seasons at North Carolina averaging 9.4 points on .455 shooting and 4.1 rebounds in 145 games (39 starts). Danny won more games (123) than any Tar Heel in history. He was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team, the All-ACC Third Team and the NCAA South Regional Tournament Team. Danny finished his college career as the only player in ACC history to tally at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-pointers, 150 blocks and 150 steals and is the only player in North Carolina history to record 100 or more blocked shots and three-point field goals.
A native of North Babylon, NY, Danny attended St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset, NY. In high school, he participated in a McDonald’s All-American game, scored 1,535 career points and was quarterback on his freshman football team.
