Chris Doleman is a former defensive end who played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, the Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49ers. Chris played in the NFL for 15 years, recording 150.5 career sacks and eight interceptions. He was drafted by the Vikings in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft as the fourth overall pick. Early in his NFL career, Chris was switched from linebacker to defensive end, recording a team-high 11 sacks in 1987. In 1989, he recorded 21 sacks, the highest total recorded that season and the fourth highest ever. In 1992, Chris was named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Year after he led the Vikings with 12.5 sacks, had 64 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. By the time Chris was traded to the Falcons in 1994, he was selected to three All-Pro, two second-team All-Pro, four First-Team All-NFC and two Second-Team All NFC teams. He returned to the Vikings in 1999 for his final season in the NFL and was awarded several distinctions. Chris was named to the NFL 1990's All-Decade Team, the 100 Sacks Club, was awarded the MInnesota Vikings Ring of Honor and is considered one of the 50 Greatest Vikings. An extremely durable athlete, Chris missed a mere two games due to injury in this 15-season, 232- game NFL career.
Chris played football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a linebacker and defensive end for the Panthers. By the time he graduated, he recorded 25 sacks, the third most ever recorded by 1984. Chris retired from the NFL in 1999 and currently runs Gateway Fusion, a technology marketing company. He also serves as the CEO of the Celebrity Charitable Network. In 2012, Chris was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
