Bruce Fleisher began playing golf at age seven along with his brothers in their hometown of Union City, Tennessee. By the time he was 19, Bruce had become the third youngest player to win the United States Amateur Championship. Soon after, he was working as a club professional and won first place titles like the 1981 International Panama Open and the 1989 PGA Club Pro Championship. Bruce continued to win championships through to the 1990 Brazilian, Bahamas, and Jamaican Open. Soon after, he took home the win for the 1991 New England Classic among several other international and USGA games. Only eight years later, Bruce had landed a spot on the PGA Senior Tour, spending 1999 as a rookie and becoming the first player ever to score back-to-back victories in his first two events. In 2001, he joined Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the elite group of players that have won both the US Amateur Championship and the US Senior Open. Bruce’s awards include the PGA Senior Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Award. He holds the record for having the most wins in a three year span by any professional golfer. Bruce currently plays on the Champions Tour and has recorded a total of 30 professional wins.
