As a 6' 9" small forward/shooting guard from Syracuse University, Billy was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the 1991 NBA Draft. He was then traded to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for guard Mitch Richmond. Billy gave the Warriors much-needed size and rebounding. He averaged over 15 points and nearly eight rebounds over his first three seasons with Golden State. Billy spent ten seasons with the Warriors, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Seattle SuperSonics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons. Billy accumulated 1,840 points in his Syracuse career and still ranks 12th in career scoring at the school. He led the 'Cuse in scoring average in 1989-1990 (18.2) and 1990-1991 (23.3). He was the first player to average more than 20 points under Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim. In 1990, Billy won a bronze medal with the US national team in the FIBA World Championship.
